We are proud to play an active role in our community by supporting local causes and participating in industry organizations.
As a supporter of Misericordia Heart of Mercy, we believe in their goal of offering a community of care that maximizes the potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom have physical challenges. Through a spectrum of residential options on its Chicago campus and in the local community, Misericordia serves children and adults from diverse racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Twenty percent of residents either come from poverty stricken families or are wards of the State. For more information on Misericordia, see www.misericordia.com.
In addition, each year Wetoska Packaging makes a donation to a charity in lieu of corporate gifts to our customers. In recent years, we have selected Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, Catholic Charities – WIC Food and Nutrition Center Program, The Salvation Army and Operation USO Care Package as the beneficiaries.
Each fall, we proudly support the annual fundraiser for The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists – AAIM. Founded in Illinois in 1982, AAIM supports DUI crash victims financially, emotionally and by providing victim advocates who help crash victims navigate the court process. AAIM also has many public education initiatives on the dangers of impaired and distracted driving, underage drinking, and illicit drug use. For more information, visit www.aaim1.org.
Our industry is constantly evolving. To help us stay as informed as possible, we participate in some important industry organizations.
Wetoska Packaging is a long-standing member of the Chicago Midwest Meat Association. It is critical for us to stay connected and support the meat industry professionals in the Chicago-Midwest region. In addition to providing information and acting as an industry resource, the CMMA awards scholarship money to children of parents employed by Chicago-Midwest meat companies. Some of the money for these scholarships is raised during the annual CMMA golf outing. We proudly support the CMMA through sponsorship opportunities at this event every year.
As Wetoska Packaging has grown, we have developed important relationships in new markets. In 2006, we joined the Wisconsin Cheese Manufacturers Association. As active members, we stay informed on the issues that are impacting Wisconsin dairy processors as well as supporting ongoing training and education. We participate in the annual WCMA trade show and the annual golf outing as well. We proudly support the association through sponsorship opportunities at both events.
We are happy to support annual events as part of our customers’ fundraising initiatives that have benefitted The National Hellenic Museum, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Soaring Eagle Academy and the Monogram Loves Kids Foundation, among many others.
